Nigerian Politics vs. Nigerian Music

This is a little info on the scope of politics and music in Nigeria.

Nigeria (nicknamed Naija) is known as one of the richest oil nations in the world. Two great rivers (river Niger and river Benue) came from East and West  coast of Nigeria and met somewhere below the centre(enough to provide water for the whole country, seeing as water has a natural cycle and the rivers have current enough to generate constant electricity throughout the whole country).there are lots of land which could be used as farmlands-which would be valuable in various areas of production and exportation, thereby making the country very active in the international stock market.

The above is just to name a few, but why is Nigeria not one of the best countries in the world? Why do skilled workers migrate (flee) to other developed countries (mostly American and European countries) and mostly plan not to go back? Why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and why have they still in their level of development after over 50 years of independence. These questions are not new, Nigerian citizens have asked these questions for decades-the most common answers, which they can deduce but not prove, is that the politicians embezzle the money that is supposed to be used for national development. Politicians tend to be extremely wealthy (with multiple bank accounts around the world containing amounts that are lots more than their income permits) while so many people suffer (the sick mostly can’t afford treatment, no security, unemployment, hunger)-to name a few! The money made by the country via international and national trade can not be entirely accounted for. What about the common Nigerians? Do they just sit down in their house and expect a hero from nowhere to come and make all the changes required?-well, YES! I grew up in Nigeria and when I was young, there use to be riots and demonstrations whenever the government is not living up to the people’s expectation, but now, people are too scared to do so-except Nigerian Musicians! Every musician knows that there is nothing inexpressible by music-Your thoughts, emotions and motives can make up good music for everyone to sing together in perfect harmony. The government would not listen to the people so; the best way to reach them is through music, which they can not do without(most greedy spend their excess riches on entertainment).I have handpick just a few of my favourite Nigerian songs that took the liberty of showing what politicians would not want you to see. The cities are being developed (tall mansions, good roads, constant source of electricity and water, good jobs) while the rural areas are being abandoned (bad roads, not electricity, no clean water, no jobs and not enough security).
