How to write an R&B Track a look into how to structure the track where to place the bridge the chorus and verse’s.
Okay to go over quickly what was already discussed you want to relax and jot some of your best thoughts and stories down. Try to relax and think clearly and then just write and try to keep your pen on the paper stay relaxed just go write whatever comes out. Afterwards choose your topic once you have your topic now you want to get a brand new piece of paper and structure your words and song. The structure of most R&B tracks will go as follows verse then the chorus, verse then the chorus followed by the bridge a verse then the chorus. Each verse must have the same rhythm just different lyrics which it is a good idea when writing any genre of music to count your syllables and keep them even. You don’t have to keep the even on every line but on a rhythm.
First two lines are 8 syllables and 5 syllables the next two lines should be the same. This is what you should be focusing on during your editing because even one syllable off could have your entire song sounding off. Usually in the case of a song sounding off it is because of the lyrics written. You not only want to try to interpret what the beat is saying but keep the lines even. Every beat is different so keep it smooth. Don’t get used to writing in the same syllable scheme or format sometimes you’ll almost always have to switch it up. You don’t want the singer singing too much at a point the beat isn’t saying silent. But it should flow with a main instrument or the singer’s voice should pose as an instrument, either way there has to be rhythm. The chorus would have the songs title inside of it and its okay if it’s more than once. The chorus is the heart of the song try to make catchy or very power and hard hitting. As well the chorus of an R&B song usually matches up with the verse but is slightly different you would still use an even amount of syllables as the verse. For example previously are first two lines had a syllable count of 8 and 5 well of the chorus we would want to add that up and we get 13 we want are hook to have the same count per two lines but not 8 5, choose something like 7 6 or 9 4 it will be smooth.
