One benefit of checking for studio equipment in pawn shops is that other musicians have given up or have been hard up for cash and have left their treasures for the taking.  Some musicians have also upgraded to more equipment and traded for product in the store.

Another Benefit of pawn shops is that you can negotiate on pricing of what you want to take home.  If you have equipment already that doesn’t fit the style of the way you do things, bring it with you.  Who knows a trade of your equipment for more equipment can be talked over.  Try it out.
