A comparison of different kinds for recorded music.
TRADITIONAL INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL MUSIC WITH ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Traditional music differs from electronic music basicaly in the fact that for instrumetal or vocal music we need to understand and be involved in music. Meanwhile in electronic music you don’t have to even be involved in arts; the beginnig of electronic music was with scientist testing how to transform sound. Performance music is limited since if you need more variety you need more people to play more instruments, and in electronic music only one person can combine as many instruments or any sounds as the composer wants. Other critical point could be the expression of sound. In instrumetal music we can find people who can do amazing effects after years of training and practice. But in a computer in the first minute that you manipulate a sound you can make any affect that you want without any previous experecience.
If we have to talk with a more critical point of view, we need to mention that electronic music attempts to facilitate the manipulation of music. It gives great facilities to the person that wants to create something without the impediment of having to study or practice music for many years. Some people could say that electronic music is an easy way to get into art, but actually what prevails at the end is creativity. Furthermore, whoever who attempts to keep in this kind of business, eventually will realize that music knowledge is necesary to develop electronic music in a creative way.
In the end, what prevails in art is hard work, and by just having a computer with programs to do nice effects is not enough to make artistic creations. We cannot forget also the creativity of an artist, but also hard work and adequate preparation are necessary to reach and exploit our insperation in the best way.
