Music nowadays just isn’t like it used to be.
As somebody who listens to music almost 18 hours a day, I can say that I listen to almost every different type of music. If you look at my Pandora Radio playlist, you’ll see many different genres; techno, dubstep, rap, rock, 90’s alternative, pop, indie and poetic.
As I listen to Pandora, day in and day out as I surf the internet, I notice that most of the music that is made today isn’t as good as the music from the 90’s. The 90’s was the era where all different kinds of music was discovered and everybody poured their heart and soul into it. The music was real, real musicians and real songwriters performed the music. The lyrics came from the heart and were about real things, as opposed to, and I apologize in advance for any offensive language, “fucking bitches and getting money” or screaming about how much they wish to rip out the spines of the people who hurt them in the past. Yes, this music may all come from the heart and be someones true feelings but there’s a fine line as to what is appropriate to play on the radio and what isn’t. Some things, like ripping out the spines of certain individuals, should stay in your diary or between you and your therapist. As for the fucking bitches and getting money, this should stay between your little group of thug friends. Why do rappers and even punk bands insist on having a curse almost every other word in their songs? They know it’ll be edited on the radio and what is even more mind boggling, is that when someone swears all the time, it shows how well of a vocabulary they have….and it isn’t well. Can’t they think of any other adjectives other than “fuck” “shit” “bitches” “pussy” and the C word that I refuse to use?
But then again, this is what is acceptable this day in age and this is what the kids like. I don’t understand why, but they do.
