For a musician, it’s all about the music, right? But what’s a show without an audience! Make sure the place is packed when your band gives a live performance by promoting it every way you can. Use the right marketing materials, such as flyer and poster printing, to get the word out and draw a crowd.

Effect

Flyers are one of the best ways to advertise your show. They are easy to make and inexpensive enough for a band with a low budget. Flyers help people actually get to the show because they have all the necessary information fans need in writing. Don’t make the mistake of leaving out important details. And make sure to use the same information when printing your flyers as you use for your poster printing.

Design

First of all, include your band’s name, and to attract the largest crowd possible also include any other bands playing the same night. Also give the name of the venue, along with its phone number, address, and any nearby landmarks that will help people find the place. Next, you’ll need to put the date and time of the show. Then list the cover charge or ticket price. Lastly, mention any perks such as product giveaways, drink specials, or free parking.

For flyer and poster printing, the most important rule is to be a clear as possible — both in your wording and the design.  If you want, you can also get creative to attract people’s attention, but don’t sacrifice clarity for creativity. Limit your amount of fonts to three and colors to four, so your flyer doesn’t end up looking cluttered. Use a graphic design, photos of the band, or even just a simple patterned background, but too many illustrations will hide your message so don’t get carried away.

Promotion

When it’s time to pass out your flyers, start with the venue you’ll be performing at; leave some flyers for them to hand out to customers. It’s likely their customers will be fans of similar music. Along that line, you should pass out flyers and put up posters at places where bands of a similar genre to yours are playing. Get your fans involved in promoting your event by giving them a handful of flyers to hand out to their friends, family, and coworkers. Take flyers to businesses that attract your audience and ask to place them on the check-out counter, in the window, or on their public poster board. By strategically placing your promotional pieces in the path of your target audience, you will be putting your flyer and poster printing to it’s best use. And you’ll be more likely to pack the house!
