This is an awesome chill out venue, a very warm feeling bar.
This six piece band mixes modern with traditional. No matter what they play, it is a real pleasure to listen to this excellent band. Mixing together a little bit of Buena Vista Social Club with some of the members more extensive experience with Afro-Cuban music and artists such as Oscar D’Leon and Los Van Van; this band really helps to bring a neighbourhood feel to the place. Mentioned as one of the hottest salsa bands in the UK.
With the main ingredient being Salsa, this more modern band incorporates Jazz, modern funk and R’n’B. This music truly lifts the soul and if it doesn’t manage to get you dancing like you just don’t care, nothing else will. With five strong musicians to help get the party started, you don’t want to miss these fantastic performers.
If you are in the mood for some live acoustic guitar, make sure you visit on a Wednesday or Thursday night. Most weeks you will find Miguel the Argentine guitarist playing his heart out in the corner solo.
All in all, if an authentic experienced of pure Latin music is desired, a weekend night at Cubana will do the trick every time. I’m sure you won’t regret it!
