Assuming everyone is quite distracted before the whole trip, I advise everyone to think very carefully about everything we take, paying attention even to the most obvious items.
If you are planning to visit one of the world’s biggest music festivals then you probably know that it is wise to put some effort into preparations. It can be quite tricky, especially if you are going to stay in the campsite – you will need more than during a regular hotel stay, but you will not want to have too much stuff with you because it would be inconvenient and risky. Less is more, also in this case, but there are some things you just have to take to feel comfortable and be able to enjoy your festival time to the fullest. Assuming everyone is quite distracted before the whole trip, I advise everyone to think very carefully about everything we take, paying attention even to the most obvious items. Here is a festival checklist including everything you need, especially these things that can be forgotten easily.
Tickets. It might sound funny, but it is actually not. Many people are so focused on packing all the necessary stuff that they forget about the most important thing. It is not a tragedy if the festival takes place somewhere close to your place, but imagine travelling abroad and not being able to enter the festival venue! Tickets are the first thing that should be packed, but don’t hide them too deep, because that is also one of the first things you will need after the arrival.
Passport/ID/driving license. Obviously passport is a must if you travel to some destinations so you better have it on you if it is required. When it comes to other identity cards, you can never know when you will be asked to prove you are over 21, even if you look your age, sometimes that is just a necessary procedure.
Waterproof jacket and wellies. There has to be space for them in your bag/backpack. Even if the weather forecast promises the most beautiful, sunny weather, it is never for sure. For some unknown reasons, rain loves festivals and it can come really unexpectedly. In such case it is better to be prepared rather than miss your favorite band hiding in the tent.
Good food. Don’t just take cans. First of all you will need decent meals to stay awake all weekend long. Second of all, there will be a lot of time for dining in the campsite with your friends and neighbors. Bring some meat, barbecue sauce, fruit and vegetable – organize a barbecue in front of your tent, it can be real fun!
Sunscreen, hats, thermal blanket. Hopefully the weather will be sunny and warm, but it means you have to protect from the sun. Remember to cover your head – that is the most important thing. It is also wise to use thermal blankets to cover you tent – it will prevent it from overheating.
Torch. All the tents look the same at night. It is also very easy to stumble on tent ropes and pegs. Torch may save your life sometimes!
These are the most important, yet often forgotten things you have to take with you. Combine it with your own must-have list making sure you don’t take too much and have fun!
