Oscar Pistorius has said that the 200m Gold was not a formality yet the world expected. It was 21:45 on Super Sunday when the finalists of the T43/44 Men’s 200m lined up ready for the start of the race. The gun went off and Oscar got off to a great start and at the 100m to go mark it looked like he was going to pull ahead and win. But no one counted on Brazilian Alan Fonteles Cardoso Oliveira coming through to pass him just before the line.

This race has brought a new rivalry to Paralympic sport and races against the two of them will be great crowd pullers.

Oscar is still the fastest man on no legs but for how much longer?

After the race Pistorius voiced his concerns over the lenght lf Oliveira’s ‘Blades’ saying they give him an advantage as they were too long. He went on to say Oliveira is a great athlete showing he was not trying to take anything away from him.

All the athletes blades are checked before the races and have to conform to IPC regulations. However Pistorius says that the IPC’s regulations are wrong and need to be looked into.

What do you think?
