Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was born on March 28 1986. At that time, nobody knew that she would be influenced by Queen, would start a music career and would become a world-famous musician and a Grammy award winner.
Stefani lived in New York and started playing the piano at an early age. Soon, she started composing her own songs and the girl’s talent became obvious. Her first piano ballad was produced at the age of 13 and by the time she became 14, Stefani was already performing live.
Lady Gaga was accepted to the Tish School of Arts of New York University. She was admitted at the tender age of 17. She continued her musical development performing in various bands.
Her stage name was derived from Queen’s Radio Gaga.
The young performer signed an initial contract with Def Jam Records. Their mutual work lasted several months only.
In 2007, Lady Gaga began performing live and developed her idiosyncratic style. These gigs were noticed and Lady Gaga soon signed a deal with Streamline Records. Her first album, The Fame, became fact in 2008.
Her second album, The Fame Monster, appeared in 2009. Its hit single Bad Romance turned into a major sensation and the fame surrounding its video surpassed what the song itself managed to achieve. Many claimed the video to be somehow perverted and oddly sexual. In an MTV interview Lady Gaga said that the video was all about strong women.
