Philip Caruso has just finished his piano lessons while he was also taking up his accountancy. Now he is sharing his passion of music to the world through his piano expertise.
Music plays a very important part of Philip Caruso’s life. He has a great passion for playing the piano and he loves to share it to people.
Philip Caruso was born and raised in China. Now he is in New Zealand studying Accountancy at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.
He has always wanted to learn to play the piano since his childhood. But his parent opposed him. They thought playing the piano would only disturb his study. So he never had the chance to learn piano in his home country.
However, when he arrived in New Zealand, he also took up lessons on piano.
He bought his piano in 2007 and started playing the piano alone. And then in March 2008, he decided to taking up proper piano lessons for at least one hour a week.

He said, “I tried to practice the piano at least two hours every day when I am at home. The person who inspired and motivated me to learn the piano was one of the world’s remarkable Pianist Lang Lang (郎朗) who is also a Chinese national. I am a great fan of Lang Lang. His passion for playing piano and his childhood story really inspired me a lot.”

It goes to show that it is never too late to pursue one’s passions in life. It’s the one thing we can excel in. Too bad his parents didn’t encourage him early on in life….

He’s great, but I do wonder about his style in playing the piano because he’s using the romantic style while he’s a great fan of Lang Lang. Well, Lang Lang is a very passionate person but this guy seems to aim for different direction. I’m also playing the piano, and my idol is Maksim Mrvica. Maybe someday you should check out Maksim’s videos, Pruelpo. He’s really really really good! He’s my true inspiration who made me continue practice since around 5 years ago.

@Cassle, I guess Philip Caruso is just a romantic lover for this type of piano rendition. I love listening it and I even wish to learn to play also piano. OK. I will check Maksim Mrvica soon. By the way, I wish to see you playing with your piano recital too. Is it possible?

Hahahaha, wait till I escape from this over-weight issue, it’s almost impossible for me to jump in front of the video recorder with those big hands. But, if you OK with audio, then I have a recording about my piano practice on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlIHjTxyvDM
