Heavenly voices by the Celtic Woman.
When I want to wind down with music, I am very partial with listening to slow instrumental music. There are no lyrics to distract me, and I just sway with the melody, instead of singing along with it and torturing my neighbors. One of my friends in facebook shared a link to this remarkable musical group called Celtic Woman. It’s the last song in this article that she shared. I’m hooked already. I was so much in awe and I was wondering, how could I have missed their music? When it comes to this kind of music, I only know Enya. Yeah, I know. Such a limited list for me, huh? At least I got around to hearing their wonderful music. It’s like angels went down from heaven and sang for us mere mortals. They are such beautiful women, with heavenly voices. I was actually looking for angel’s wings somewhere. Something like that is not of earthly origins. And just look at how they sing, so relaxed, almost effortless. Their voices remind me of the sound of crystal glass, distinct and clear. Did I say they were awesome? Guess I did.
This first song may sound familiar, as I have included it in my previous article on relaxing music, where it was played on harp. And of course, this was originally sang by Sting, the popular bassist of the group The Police. Now hear the angel’s version.
Fields of Gold
This next one is Cyndi Lauper’s original song back in the 80’s if I’m not so mistaken. It’s a personal favorite so I was just so thrilled that Celtic Woman has this version as well.
True Colors
I saved the best for last. This was first sung by Josh Groban. I had goosebumps hearing him sing this from not so long ago. Hearing it from Celtic Woman, I am simply speechless.
You Raise Me Up
I hope you enjoyed their music as much as I did.

And they are called Celtic Woman, not Celtic Women. My list of favorite music artists is becoming richer because of you. If it’s from you, it must be good. I’ll be checking on Enya as well. How come I don’t know these music artists?
Brewed Coffee November 17th, 2010 at 10:16 am
@ RB – yes it is woman and not women. I am also wondering why. I have included links to their sites here as well as for Enya, Cyndi, Josh and Sting. Hahaha pinuno ng backlinks
@ Phoenix – yes, the best pa rin ang original, although I was just mesmerized sa version ng Celtic Woman. Ang pino at linis kasi ng high notes nila. Di nakakangilo hahaha!
@ Christine – indeed, very lovely women with lovely voices. I have yet to hear their version of Amazing Grace. I didn’t have time earlier
@ Likha, Webs, Star, Luna, thanks for the visit

Amazingly, I am familiar with all these artists. I like them all and all of your selections. I grew up with the music of Cyndi Lauper and the others I know from public television.
tankermone November 17th, 2010 at 11:54 am
‘Celtic Woman’ has been on PBS several times, and I am surprised at how many have never heard of them. Another place to become familiar with unknowns is to visit the music section where you listen to the headphones in Target, WalMart, etc. and they have those little boards with types of music where you just push a button with the headphones on.
