My Personal List of the top ten metal songs of all time. Note this is my personal opinion, and I hope you enjoy my preferences :)

1) Master of Puppets – Metallica

One of the most classic metal songs in all of history. The opening riff with James Hetfield and Kirk Hamlett makes this a high-paced, exciting and overall best metal song of all time.

2) Hallowed by Thy Name – Iron Maiden

Another classic by Iron Maiden. Featuring a sound that makes this sound distinct to other metal songs. Not to mention the fast-paced solo that accompanies the song.

3) Crazy Train – Ozzy Osbourne

Probably one of the best-known metal songs of all time. Guitarist Randy Rhoads creates amazing guitar riffs that are not only fast paced, but one that makes this song an awesome one to listen. Ozzy Osbourne adds an amazing touch to this song with his distinct vocals, while the solo isn’t too shaby also.

4) Holy Wars…The Punishment Due – Megadeth

Another song that was popular during the new wave of heavy metal. Holy Wars features fast-paced guitar riffs, the growling sound of Dave Mustaine’s vocals and three solos that add flavor to this song.

5) One – Metallica

Probably the second best known Metallica Song. The opening riff accompanied by the solo guitar of Kirk Hamlett makes this song one that will be memorable for a long long time. The solo and high paced energy accompanied with this song also makes this a worthy choice for top five.

6) Welcome to the Jungle – Guns and Roses

The most popular song by Guns and Roses to date. The sweet sound of Slash’s guitar work and riffs, accompanied by Axl Rose’s vocals makes this a song that is not only good to headbang to, but also to listen to.

7) Painkiller – Judas Priest

Ahh. Painkiller. Judas Priest. This song has unique vocals that the singer can extend for long period of time. The solo is one of the most important parts of the song. Go Painkiller!

8) Fear of the Dark – Iron Maiden

Ahh. An old classic from way back. Fear of the Dark has a memorable vocals, guitar work and a duel solo that makes this song one of the best of its time, and ours too :)

9) Back in Black – AC/DC

Ahh. The song that all hard rock and metal fans have at least heard before. Features memorable riffs that all guitar players would love to play. The vocals and the solo arn’t bad either!

10) Holy Diver – Killswitch Engage (Dio Cover)

A song that Killswitch Engage decided to cover, and they did a pretty good job at it too. Adding a unique touch of vocals and guitar work with lots of pinch harmonics, Holy Diver remains a memorable metal song. The solo is also done extremely well!

Dear Risingstorm, I love what your doing and we should keep in touch. However , you need to put Ace of Spades on that list, that was one of the first metal songs and gave Metallica their inspiration to give it their all as a band,

Great list, but I have to admit I am not much into Guns n’ Roses and I like to original Dio song more, but still great choice.
