A detailed guide to the amazing reign of Gibson guitars.
J-250 Monarch-This is one of the more expensive guitars because of iSts fine features. The first notable feature on this beauty is the binding. The guitar has extensive binding all over including on the neck, fret board, headstock, and the body. The binding is similar to the J-200 using mother-of-pearl, and the rare Paua abalone. The pick guard is oversized and is used with the abalone and even hits of opal. It takes approximately 4 weeks to construct by hand and is valued as the best of the best.

ES-339-This model, unlike the Monarch, is much more affordable. It is the cheapest custom on the market, and is a Dot model. It is a semi hollow body and can be used with the 30/60 neck, or the 59’ rounded profile neck. The people at Gibson have also moved the input jack to the out side so there is no cable that crosses the body. Overall this is a great guitar definitely worth buying because of the wonderful features and cheap price.

SG 61 Reissue-Another reasonably affordable Gibson guitar on the market that is probably the best buy for an SG. Some of the features include a slim-tapered neck, fine sculpted double cut away body, 57 humbucker pickups at the neck and bridge, and finally a 22 hand edged fret board with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. This SG is the choice of the pros including Tony Iommi, Pete Townshend, Angus Young, and Eric Clapton.

EDS-1275 Double Neck- The EDS-1275 is the original model that was set up as an icon in the lat 1970’s. It is one of the finest customs on the market and uses an extend SG body. The quantities of these guitars are extremely meager and are handcrafted by the most skilled technicians at the Gibson plant in Nashville, Tennessee. The body’s two hand rolled necks are attached to a unusually light body. The whole guitar only weighs about 11 pounds. The guitar includes 2 three way selector switches. This guitar is famously played by the Led Zeppelin king, Jimmy Page.
