How to Play an Open G Chord

This is how to play an Open G major on guitar.

The open G chord is probably the most commonly used guitar chord.  It is used in almost every kind of music.

You start off by putting your pinky on the first string at the third fret, and then your ring finger on the same fret but the string above it.  Then use your middle finger on the fifth string at the second fret.  Then to finish it off put your index finger on the sixth string at the third fret.

Don’t hit any other strings and you will have a good clean sounding open G.
