BC Rich electric guitars represent great value in innovative and creative styles. Whilst they tend to be associated with certain musical genres the history of this great brand is fascinating and accessible to veryone who appreciates their guitars well built, with good quality hardware and at an affordable price.
Truth be told I’d not encountered BC Rich electric guitars until a colleague of mine got me into them some three years ago. I’m assuming that mainly because of the style of music I tended to listen out for and also artists I really liked these people were not on my own radar. However, I whilst initially it will be the shapes that first catch a person’s eye, I have been genuinely extremely taken aback in their standard. For any uninitiated BC Rich electric guitars can be the guitar of preference for your fans of heavy rock music. Their shape and general appearance usually tend to lend themselves effectively to the overall connection with metal music. We were intrigued therefore I made a decision to learn even more in regards to the BC Rich company along with the guitars they’ve made ever since the late 60’s. Apparently , BC Rich took its identity from a person named Bernardo B Chavez C Rico. BC Rico who owned and operated a traditional guitar restoration store. He eventually broadened in to creating Gibson Les Paul style designs as his know-how increased and he wanted to enlarge. Among the list of instruments he’d have built at this particular time would’ve been the Eagle.
BC Rico got to be BC Rich electric guitars after a lawsuit so when time went by a lot more instruments were being manufactured and a band of committed enthusiasts developed as the company grew to become well known for it’s distinctive quality and artistry. It follows that in the 1990’s a nearly tragic move to the company virtually contributed to BC Rich Guitars not making it because the founder presented a company named Class Axe the legal rights to build their particular axes under permit. Unfortunately, the product quality was incredibly inferior and the harm to their standing was obvious to see as plenty of of their dedicated supporters proceeded to go somewhere else.
In time the product quality problems were remedied and Rico needed to make a move to revive his status in the guitar production world. The requirement to innovate led to them becoming among the first firms to construct guitars using a neck through body setup and including pickups and other hardware inside the guitar to improve the audio. They have also made guitars produced from acrylic material which are completely transparent.
With the quality problems of the past and evolved build methods that attract the heavy rock audience they are once again a respected manufacturer of guitars. You can now find the Assassin/ASM, Dagger, Mockingbird and Mockingbird II, Zombie, Widow, Wrath, Seagull, Jazzbox, Nighthawk, and the Gunslinger. One of the most famous is BC Rich’s Warlock.
The looks of BC Rich electric guitars may not be to everyone’s taste, but you cannot now doubt the build quality or the loyal and devoted base of followers.
