Thanks to torrent sites and softwares: drummers from all around the world, on a tight budget, can download and study from multimedia drumming materials.
After my first drum lesson, I was greatly enthralled by the expressive freedom, that the craft offers. I checked a local music-store and purchased Peter Magadini’s, “Learn to Play The Drumset Volume one. I read and studied it all. The following year I purchased volume two. After I mastered volume two, I researched other drummers and their educational material. I also went back to the music-store and sought out some drum books and dvds that I came across online.
Limewire
As it turned out, many of the books and dvds i wanted were not available there. Gradually however, with my increased exposure to the internet, I came across Limewire, and learnt the things that it could do.
Top drummers
I used it to download videos and audio from all the drummers I was aware of then, like: Steve Gadd, Tony Royster Jr, Steve Smith, John Blackwell, Dave Weckl, Peter Madadini, Mike Portnoy and several others.The video downloading site Keepvid.com also came in handy when I needed videos from youtube.
Demonoid.com
As time progressed, I came across Isohunt.com, which is a wonderful and vast database of torrents. I secured many useful videos and programs from it, this was great because it was of no cost to me whatsoever. Shortly afterwards, while talking with a friend, I found out that he had membership on demonoid.com. He sent me an invitation and I also became a member on it.
Drum related torrents
This also provided me with alot of drumming torrents as I found and downloaded a huge collection of drumming books and audio which is called ” drum related torrents” and “a drummer’s goldmine” on demonoid and other torrent sites. This material was very helpful, and some of the books may teach a drummer many quality lessons and approaches to drums and percussion.
Steve Gadd
Knowing that many of the things that I wanted were online for free, I always search for new things as torrents. For instance, I wanted the Steve Gadd Master Series; I would search for Steve Gadd master series torrent. Chances are that if its not too recent, you’ll get to partake of it.
By searching for: drum books, videos, and audio as torrents, I have come across many good sites. Some of these sites are as follows.
