Overview on a The Korg X50

My very brief pros and cons on one of Korg’s most recent synthesizers.

For something so light and portable, a review is definitely necessary. I’ve had enough playtime and interaction to give some opinions.

The sound bank consists of the same sounds you’ve heard in the Korg lineup for the past 10 years. This could be a pro or con to you, depending on your preference.

Pros:

  • Lightweight, about 15 pounds
  • Very small and compact
  • Carrying handles on the side
  • Fairly easy-to-use navigation system

Cons:

  • No new sound bank
  • Power cable input is very sensitive and temperamental
  • No memory banks for easy switching

For it’s ease of use and fairly cheap price (about $700), I would definitely say that the Korg X50 is the way to go.
