The Tragedy no Mother should have to go through.

It is reported that when Rachel Edwards was driving her car in Lincolnshire, it hit a pot hole, and landed in a dyke. She had her sixteen year old son, and her two year old daughter in the car with her at the time.

Rachel who is 6 months pregnant, managed to escape from the sinking car, and quickly grabbed 2 year old Isabella, whilst realising that if she also tried to save Jack, Isabella’s life would be in danger. She could see that Jack was strapped in, behind a closed door, so her only hope was to swim back with Isabella, and get help for Jack.

By that time paramedics had arrived, and such was her agony, that they had to hold her back whilst they rescued Jack. Tragically he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. No wonder this poor mother cannot stop thinking about it, and having bad dreams, as she had  asked Jack to close the window so that Isabella would sleep without disturbance.

It is a mother’s instinct to rescue the smallest and most vulnerable of her children, and nothing to do with choosing one over another. I do hope this lady can come to terms with such a tragedy, and stop blaming herself for what was a cruel stroke of fate. If any good can come out of it, it is that her presence of mind saved her daughter’s life.

May Jack rest in peace,he will always be loved, and never forgotten, and it is so sad he had such a short life., but his mother was not to blame, it was the hand of fate.
