The first president of the United States of America is a man who many people have studied but there are still some lesser known facts about him.

1. He is the only true public servant he serverd in the military of the government for his whole life and died not long after giving up the presidency.

2. There was no law saying that George Washington could not serve more than 2 terms as president he chose to give it up.

3. He died at Mount Vernon.

4. At one point in his life he had malaria.

5. As well as smallpox.

6.  He is the only person who ever ran unopposed for the presidency.

7. And the only person ever unamiously elected to the office.

8. He was 67 years old at the time of death.

9. Pnuemonia was the cause of death.

10. And he was among the members of the Virginia House of Burgesses.
