Who Killed Whitney Houston?

Posted in: Genres by Jimmy Shilaho on February 12th, 2012 | 35 Comments

Singer Whitney Houston is dead at 48 and already questions are being asked. What was the cause of her death? Who killed the iconic singer? Did she take her own life or did you and I push her to her death?

Whitney Houston is dead

Whitney Houston is dead at 48, and she isn’t just dead, she was killed, somebody murdered her. Who killed this iconic singer? Who murdered Whitney? Forget where her body was found or who was living with her, celebrities never die of natural causes, they never succumb to their illicit ways, or so we always think, and because of that, the police will be looking for all manner of clues for foul play.

Remember Michael Jackson

Remember the death of Michael Jackson not long ago, and the nail biting trial that followed in a bid to indict his personal doctor on murder charges. Remember how his personal life was dragged into the whole mess. Who will pay for Whitney’s death? Somebody has to pay even if her long established drug problem is the main culprit.

We killed Whitney Houston

I will tell you the real culprit. We killed Whitney Houston, just like we killed Michael Jackson. We shall kill many more celebrities in future as well. By celebrating their achievements and ignoring their foolish misdemeanors, we contribute both directly and indirectly to their early death and then go on to shed crocodile tears when they succumb.

Drug abusers should be locked up in rehabs

Instead of arresting drug peddlers and putting them away in the cooler for decades or finding them a permanent seat at a rehab, we celebrate their ugly ways and find their drug use a normal part of their weirdness. How then can we cry foul when we are the sole cause of their early death?

Our children should be told the truth

Whitney killed herself, she succumbed to her own drug related issues and instead of mourning her, and we should send a strong message to the youth out there that drugs kill. We should tell them that when your appetite for drugs surpasses that for food, the end result is death. Many celebrities have succumbed to drug abuse and many more are on the way. Something needs to be done and our children need to be told that drug use isn’t cool; it doesn’t make you better at what you do.

We are creating basket cases by worshipping drug users

Michael Jackson would be alive today and singing another thriller or better, Whitney would still be singing and acting, happily married to some responsible fellow, but instead, we are creating more basket cases. Who will be next? Who shall we murder next? Methinks we should boycott movies, albums and singles of those celebrities who can’t behave properly!!!!!!!!!!!

I like her music. I do not care about the person though. And anyone who takes drugs is choosing to do so and if it is an overdose that is the cause of her death, that is her own stupidity.
That is how I feel about the subject anyway but everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

All drugs are a source of evil. Whitney in my opinion was a very spiritually child of God that was surrounded by evil demons who were jealous of her God given gift and they hand a hand in her downfall. Whitney was raised in the church. Have you ever heard Booby Brown during their marriage profess to love Jesus or even be a Christian? Bobby Brown started the demise of Whitney. He was extremely Jealous and insecure of her gift. She was a bigger star professionally than him. He tried to use drugs as a way to break her down and emotionally and mentally control her. She stayed with him far too long for the sake of being a good Christian wife. She tried to show the naysayers that their marriage could work. This why when you get married Christian women, make sure you are equally yoked with the man. I’ve always said how can a woman submit unto the man if the man can’t submit unto Christ? If the head of the woman is the man, then the head of the man must be Christ. If a woman submits unto a man that doesn’t have the head of Christ, then she is submitting unto a demon. And even if he says he’s a Christian, he still might not be on the same spiritual level as you. I, as a Christian woman, recognize that Whitney indeed loved the Lord. Her down fall was she was trying to in a subtle way share her faith and still shake hands with the devil, perhaps to win her man over to Christ. She went about it without having her whole armor of God on. Instead of pulling him more toward Jesus, she compromised and went with him to the dope house. Jesus sat with the sinners, but he was anointed, fasted, and prayed up. As a Christian, we can’t go into the enemy’s camp without our armor on, and think we can win a loved one over to God. I believe Whitney’s one saving grace is her own true love for the Lord. He knows she loves him and now she’s with him, safe out of harm’s way from all who desired in this life to throw stones at her and who hated her because of her gift.

A boycott? Interesting idea. However I think people make choices for their own lives.

  • Starpisces February 13th, 2012 at 4:41 pm

oh, glad to see your writing again, Jimmy.
For me, I only know few of her songs, which I find nice, other than that, I don’t know about her personal life, though I heard that she was on drug.

  • Phoenix Montoya February 13th, 2012 at 9:04 pm

Aw come on? I didn’t sell them drugs (kidding). Its really saddening when death is concerned and its good to see your writing here again Jimmy.

  • avissado February 16th, 2012 at 6:03 am

jimmy if only all the evil in this world would go away just by telling it too. It’s sad what happened to Whitney, MJ, and god know how many more celebrities.
Their deaths are not issue about drug abuse and peddling. That’s just the surface, the bottom line is the seed of desire for stardom that lies in each one of us. What is it about success and fame that drives us all? Why can’t we all be happy just being anything even nothing? Why do we all strive to be something and something more?
It was good to see you publish here after a long time.

Well said. Hero worship for all the wrong reasons and trapped into bigger-than-life image.

  • shobhana February 16th, 2012 at 7:09 am

Yes that is true. Drugs kill for sure. Celebrities using drugs should not be idolised. In fact they should be rehabilitated

  • ericb5 February 16th, 2012 at 10:51 am

They are idolised for their music, not for their personal lives. Unfortunately the media tends to want focus on that instead. Nobody killed Whitney. She was responsible for her own actions just like the rest of us. Many celebrities do not succumb to drugs, and other addictions. For those that do, I believe it is a byproduct of arrogance. They believe they are so far above the rest of us that they can’t be harmed by the same things. That think they can get away with abusing themselves and others, without suffering the same consequences. And time and again they are wrong.

  • mphsglo February 16th, 2012 at 10:55 am

Look back. People were arrested for using drugs, ie Billie Holiday. The rehabs, now, are just country club hangouts. Ultimately, the choice to take the drugs is on the celeb. I love Whitney Houston for a number of reasons and mourn the person she was and could have been. I just hope younger performers learn from this incident.

  • Prometheus Ridley Scott February 16th, 2012 at 11:59 am

Good to see you back, Jimmy. Thought provoking piece. May God look after her.

  • LoveDoctor February 16th, 2012 at 1:02 pm

    Welcome back!

I agree with your views. Whitney killed herself by succumbing to her own drug-related issues. Her marriage to Bobby Brown was on the rocks. Did she seek therapy to overcome her depression? Did she seek treatment for her drug addiction? She was also mixing a cocktail of medications and sleeping pills. It looks like she just couldn’t take it anymore. In order to combat drug misuse, schools need to raise drug awareness about the dangers and the importance of recovery.

THIS IS A GREAT ARTICLE. There is plenty of blame to go around on this sad story.

  • Minister Marlene February 16th, 2012 at 3:01 pm

Bobby Brown? Bobby Brown had nothing to do with Whitney’s death. People kill me. Did Bobby Brown shove a crack pipe down her mouth and force her to smoke it. I understand exactly what you’re saying here Jimmy. And well said too! Society allows their entertainers and stars to go on and kill themselves as long ad they keep up their talented antics- and entertain all. If she was so loved then what fans should have done instead of screaming crying and falling out over her talent, was to band together at her concerts and shout ” we love you Whitney but we want you to get off the drugs, come with us, come now with ALL of us, your fans and we will escort you to rehab, come on Whitney we’re here for you, we’re not leaving and we won’t allow you to sing another word until your cured of this monkey on your back” .Your article Jimmy, has nothing to do with religion, other than we should love our neighbors as ourselves.
The world lies, they did not love Whitney, just as they did not love Michael Jackson……We are a bunch of phonies when we say we did.

i like the voice of this article.besides recognizing our responsibility over our own actions,we must also recognize how our own actions raise people up or put them down.

You speak the truth, my friend. You speak the truth: Crack is Whack!

  • Raj the Tora February 17th, 2012 at 4:10 am

Welcome back Jimmy. Very valuable analysis. It is personal responsibility of such stars to pull up thier socks and get their act together against drugs, cigars, alcohol, child abuse and what not! However, on the other hand, neither adults nor children should idol worship them once they get to know about their perturbed personal lives.

I GREW UP LISTENING TO WHITNEY’S SONGS IT IS SAD THAT SHE COULDN’T LEAVE HER ADDICTION TO DRUGS HAVING A HUSBAND LIKE BOBBY BROWN HE WASN’T VERY SUPPORTIVE

  • sassyt February 17th, 2012 at 12:01 pm

Whatever the reason for her death God doesn’t make mistakes. If he didn’t want her to be gone then she would still be here. But well said.

  • atlanta February 17th, 2012 at 1:05 pm

whitney houston was called home by the almighty god. She had already said she had met jesus long time ago. I love the way she talked about jesus in her life.

  • Michal Dorcak February 17th, 2012 at 2:54 pm

I liked this article and I agree with what you wrote. Addicts should be in rehab or locked up even if they are celebrities.

  • Edyta N. Tehrani February 17th, 2012 at 3:05 pm

Very true. Celebrity cult destroys so many talented people. I don’t think God was very pleased with what happened to Whitney. I just hope she did call to Him in her last moments. He did not want her gone nor on drugs. He wanted her to shine in this world for Him and bring Him glory and joy for a long time. Not everything that happens in this world is the will of God otherwise Jesus would never tell us to pray that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven… :(

  • Christyan S. February 18th, 2012 at 11:56 am

The problem is not supporting drug addicts , it is supporting and mourning people who commit suicide . If the police investigation ends labeling her death as a suicide then we should try and make people understand that’s the coward’s way of dodging problems . Suicide should not be on TV .

  • gaby7 February 18th, 2012 at 3:25 pm

Celebs die very unnecessarily these days! She had the sweetest voice in this whole wide universe, yet with that very vocal box, she swallowed all sorts o dangerous drugs! This makes me think, all successful Musician consorts with the devil and nobody should discount the Illuminati phenomenon in the music Industry! Her death spoilt my week, but your resurfacing here Jimmy, to talk about Houston was atleast, the high side! Great to see you Ndugu!

  • sloanie February 18th, 2012 at 9:09 pm

Drug dealers are the real problem, poisoning everyone from school children to the best in our society. How many good talented people and young innocent children, must die before we lock them up and through away the keys.
Drug Addicts need help, Drug Dealers need the Death Penalty.
Whitney has left behind the daughter she should have lived for.

I have to say, that I do agree with you, nobody stopped liking her music or seeing her in concert, had she known that people looked down at her activities things may have turned out differently.
    Great piece.

I also have a poem about her. You can check it out if you like.
