Local Music

There are many good local bands in the great city of Grand Rapids, Michigan I’ll focus on the less hard ones first. The genres of indie and rock. For example we have The Flowbs, they are sort of an indie type band from this great city you can listen to their music at myspace.com/theflowbs.

Next we have Unaltered, this is a band straight out of highschool. They came from Jenison Highschool and are very young but very talented also visit them on myspace at myspace.com/untaltered.

Now onto the harder music, Grand Rapids has a great scene of hardcore and metal bands, the first band I’ll start with is Brothers: They have an ex-member of the punk-hardcore band comeback kid, they are a great band and are signed by saw her ghost records. They are in the process of recording a 7″ and have a full length out now.

Next we have Tall Ships, they’re a new and great local band from Grand Rapids. Brother of a member from still remains is included in this band and they are very good.

Last we have the venues: the 3 best venues in Grand Rapids are Skelletones, the intersection and the daac the intersection is more of a mainstream venue and has big bands like skillet come. But the daac and skelletones are all about the local scene.

Skelletones is more underground and book more hardcore music along with punk. They are into the local scene.
