Article on the band Kansas.

Kansas is an American rock band that was founded in the 1970’s. They initially started on the Album-Oriented Rock charts, and later had hit singles such as “Carry on my Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind”. They have remained a classic rock performing band and a popular touring act in North America and Europe.

Opinion:

I like “Carry on my Wayward Son” because of the vocals sung by Steve Walsh.

“Once I rose above the noise and confusion

Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I’m dreaming
I can hear them say”

These lyrics mean a lot and have true meanings and feelings in them. I can understand why this song was #11 at the time in the US and #5 in Canada. The song also has a US gold certification. The song was released in 1976 in the album Leftoverture. I can relate to those lyrics because I’ve tried really hard to figure things out but have gone too far and ruined what I was trying to figure out. Blind and Mad? Yes I can relate to that and not see the real reality. I can also hear what people are saying I’m not deaf. Bottom line, this song is amazing and this band Kansas is great!
