A Musical Food Discovery

In these lean economic times we have to look deeper into our cupboards for something tasty. In the music world there is always a tempting treat.

When relaxing, music, drink and food are usually in the forefront of our minds. Is there such thing as music with food and drink connections? Let’s open the cupboard to see what we have to satisfy those taste buds.

Singer Errol Brown has decided to stop performing at the age of sixty, his music will be missed but he leaves us with quite a collection.

Hot Chocolate anyone?

Remember the guys performing the Full Monty?

This  is the scene  from the film, it shows the embarrassing moment for a young, teenage boy, watching his dad perform in the yard.

One thing we don’t like on our food is Grease! The music from the film however leaves us wanting more.

We do enjoy a glass of Red Wine and UB40 offer us just that.

Oh, you are a Cider Drinker? Sorry…

Sometimes we look for something Sweet , this definately gives our palette a treat.

Honey from Bobby Goldsboro can bring a tear to our eye.

Well, when rationing in  WWII was at its peak, Chicory Tips were added to help coffee go further, switch on the TV and enjoy a cup.

Fancy toast?   Do we have Bread?

Is there Marmalade or Jam on the shelf?

Hey it’s ok we have Meatloaf

 then American Pie to finish!

Mouldy Old Dough was sung by Lieutenant Pigeon, a British  rag/ jazz group from the 1970’s.

Hot Chocolate were an English group made famous during the 1970’s, the lead singer was Errol Brown.

Marmalade were a group from Scotland during the late 1960’s to today.

The Jam grew to fame in the UK during the punk era of the 1970 -80’s, although their music could be described as having a slightly softer edge, than some of the punk groups.

Chicory Tip were another British group of the late 1960’s.

The Sweet were a group who were not afraid to show their glam rock side, they were well known for their skin tight shiny suits and platform boots.

Bread were a rock group from the United States of America during the 1970’s.

Meatloaf aka Marvin Lee Aday aka Michael Lee Aday, is a famous American rock star, he rose to fame in the 1980’s

UB40 are an English band, their speciality is Reggae, they rose to fame in the late 1970’s

Don Mclean was a folk singer from the 1960’s (started in the late ’50’s)

Blur (Coffee and TV song), are a band from the UK, they had a feisty, fiery personality as a type of rock alternative, they rose to fame in the late 1980’s.

The Wurzles are an English band, they sing with a strong country accent about an alcoholic drink made from fermenting apples ~ Cider.
