In these lean economic times we have to look deeper into our cupboards for something tasty. In the music world there is always a tempting treat.
When relaxing, music, drink and food are usually in the forefront of our minds. Is there such thing as music with food and drink connections? Let’s open the cupboard to see what we have to satisfy those taste buds.
Singer Errol Brown has decided to stop performing at the age of sixty, his music will be missed but he leaves us with quite a collection.
Hot Chocolate anyone?
Remember the guys performing the Full Monty?
This is the scene from the film, it shows the embarrassing moment for a young, teenage boy, watching his dad perform in the yard.
One thing we don’t like on our food is Grease! The music from the film however leaves us wanting more.
We do enjoy a glass of Red Wine and UB40 offer us just that.
Oh, you are a Cider Drinker? Sorry…
Sometimes we look for something Sweet , this definately gives our palette a treat.
Honey from Bobby Goldsboro can bring a tear to our eye.
Sugar anyone?
Well, when rationing in WWII was at its peak, Chicory Tips were added to help coffee go further, switch on the TV and enjoy a cup.
Fancy toast? Do we have Bread?
Is there Marmalade or Jam on the shelf?
Sorry no toast only Mouldy Old Dough!!
Hey it’s ok we have Meatloaf
then American Pie to finish!

The Jam grew to fame in the UK during the punk era of the 1970 -80’s, although their music could be described as having a slightly softer edge, than some of the punk groups.
Chicory Tip were another British group of the late 1960’s.
The Sweet were a group who were not afraid to show their glam rock side, they were well known for their skin tight shiny suits and platform boots.

lanne January 28th, 2009 at 12:32 am
Oh Glynis!! You have made my day…. I love all things food related and I am a HUGE music fan. Bobby Goldsboro , although not well known is one of my favorites because of his song Honey. Meatloaf was all that I listened to in grade 7…and I wish I had a dollar for every copy of Grease that I wore out as a kid. This is a truly great compilation of music that could be food related. I`d like a compilation to play while I cook!
