Was has happened to the legendary members of one of the most successful pop bands ever?
The Band consisted of four Members: Paul McCartney,John Lennon,Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. All of them had a successful career of playing in one of the most popular bands ever. All of them also lead some pretty interesting lives and some ended a little early.
Paul McCartney was the front man for the band. He played bass and was the lead vocalist. After the band broke-up in 1970, Paul lead a very successful solo career. Paul McCartney and the Wings was successful in writing hits that topped the charts, including “Band on the Run” which won two Grammy Awards. Paul McCartney is one of the highest payed solo artists alive.
John was the guitarist for the band. He and Paul wrote the majority of the songs. John takes a lot of heat from speculation that he broke up the Beatles because of his relationship with Yoko Ono. He had a fairly decent solo career. I wouldn’t say it was as good as Paul’s solo career, but he definitely made some good money. He was the first Beatle to resign from the band. John was doing alright after the break-up until Mike Abram broke into his house and stabbed him, nearly killing him. After that John wasn’t seen in public much. John died on December 8, 1980, when he was shot by Mark Chapman on the streets of New York.
He was born by the name of Richard Starkey. He was the drummer for the Beatles. He actually replaced Pete Best, the original drummer for the band. After his time with the Beatles, he also had a solo career. I don’t believe that he had as much success as Paul and John, but he had a few good songs. Ringo is still an active musician that plays concerts with his son 43 year old song, Zak Starkey. Zak is also the drummer for the rock band, The Who.
George was the lead guitarist for the band. He wrote a few songs from them, including “Here Comes The Sun”. After the break-up he also went on to play with the Traveling Wilbury’s, which consisted of Roy Orbison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan, and Tom Petty. He developed a close relationship with guitarist Eric Clapton. George married Patti Byod, a unsuccessful model, which later divorced him to marry his best friend, Eric Clapton. He died of lung cancer on November 29, 2001. He was cremated and his ashes where scattered in the Ganges River in India because of his Hindu Religion. He left $115 million dollars in his will.
So, there ya have it. There are only 2 remaining members of this legendary rock band that still exist. They should be appreciated for their talent and their work.
