Should we miss him? Was he really such a big deal?
Like most people, I am shocked about the King of Pop’s sudden death. Many of us have mixed feelings about his death. But whether or not you liked him or hated him, it will remain to be a tragic loss for the world of music.
When you think about it, the real reason why his death was such a shock is because of how unexpected it was. He was basically invisible for a very long time, and out of the blue hes dead. He hid from us, the public. And he was soon ready to reveal himself to the industry again, but that opportunity was taken from him, but Micheal has already done more than enough for the music industry.
There’s really no music as legendary as the the music of Michael Jackson or any of the artists of older generations. Everything sounds the same today, and Michael Jackson’s music is timeless. I can tell you this because as a young adult I am expected to listen to the likes of Lil Wayne or Britney Spears. When Michael was at his best I was only small, yet I can name most of his songs. I’m not an avid fan I don’t have any downloads of his music or Cd’s, yet I know his music like it was just released yesterday.
The day of his death was a very sad day for the future of music – he was going to make a come back! Imagine the new tunes he could have released, now we have to wait for another musical legend to be born, if that could ever happen. There is no word to discribe how amazing his music was, he wrote some of his hit songs himself which is a rare find among singers in the pop genre. We won’t see another Michael Jackson in a very long time.
Speaking of Britney Spears, her dancing is very similar to Michael Jackson’s. Jackson influenced a lot of the modern dancing you see today! Not to forget Justin Timberlake and Chris Brown, both great dancers who if you watch them dance you can see Jackson in them. The ”Moon walk” a legendary dance move, only some people can master it. How many singers do you know that invented dance moves as iconic as the moon walk? Jackson’s moves can only be done perfectly by him. There’s very few people who can dance like Micheal Jackson. Some of the dances in his music videos are unbelievable, watch any of his music videos and you will see and watch in awe. Nearly all of today’s dancing is influenced by the one and only Jackson, and I doubt we will see another era that will bring on new of spectacular dance moves such as the ones Jackson and Paula Abdul brought us.
