John Lennon

John Lennon was a liberal, he lived as he wanted, and he was free. He also wanted freedom for everybody, he fought for freedom. Currently people think of John Lennon as a hippie, but was not only a hippie, he was a free man fighting for freedom for everyone. He wanted to show the people in the world that freedom is the best way to live. The reasons I think John Lennon is a great influence is because he fought for peace in the world, he was a wonderful artist and he lived according to his liberals.

People usually say that John Lennon didn’t fight for peace. But they are only taking into account physical fighting, because John Lennon fought with the word, with his songs. They were full of powerful meanings. For example, “Imagine”: this is a song of John Lennon which talks about if people can imagine a world without possessions, religions, countries, violence, hunger, greed and also says if we could imagine a world were everybody lives for today, no worries for the future. Yoko Ono, John Lennon´s wife, said that the lyrical content of “Imagine” was “just what John believed, that we are all one country, one world, one people. He wanted to get that idea out”. In this quote Yoko is saying that “Imagine” expresses what Lennon believed, and that he wanted to share it with the world. Another song is “Give Peace a Chance”. In this song John talks about problems today, and that we should give peace a chance.

John Lennon was a free man; he lived according to what he believed. I personally admire that. He only cared about other´s opinions when he talked about making peace but he didn’t pay attention about all critics he received. He was usually criticized because he had different vision about life and human, and he was also starting a revolution; Even with the people against him, he composed great songs with lots of meanings and most of his songs were about peace. John Lennon played the guitar, the piano, the bass, the harmonica, the banjo and he also sang.

John Lennon was a great person, he fought for peace, he was an incredible musician and he lived according to his liberals. Lennon is a great influence for people all around the world. People should listen to what he said and start to think about it; we should give peace a chance.
