The problem people have with Otis Miles better known as Otis Williams is his limited vision of the legacy let alone the history of the Temptations. Or maybe, he can’t honestly admit to himself the truth that this group had four creator or co-founders. Whom fans know to be David English(Melvin Franklin), Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Elbridge Bryant.
Upon the group websites, you’ll find edited down vision of the group formation with him just proclaiming he founded the group. Which you can always visualize this truth when the other founders has passed on to a blessful world. It’s great to give the late Elbridge Bryant his dues too. Although it possible his estate doesn’t get any type royalties from his recordings with the group.
With fans, the problem lies in the twisted fact that the voices of the Temptations were and always been the primary lead singers of this group. Williams, can try his best to edited down the group, as being a five man lead vocal group. And facts might support a few comments , in terms of that comment. Except, they aren’t totally supported upon the “Meet the Tempations” first recordings. Where Sweet Eddie Kendricks and Paul “Soul” Williams blazed out the vocals.
The first two lead vocalist of the early Temptations years. The problem again, with any Temptations fans is Otis Williams doesn’t want to honestly admit that the preacher man of Mississippi that replaced Bryant, was the sparkle and the spotlight that got the group the attention from the excutive branch of Motown.
