One of the greatest blues songs in my life today is “I’ll Be Around” by the Spinners. I grew up watching my mother pray and worry about things when she had no help and no one to call on.

There are many songs in our lives everyday. Those old songs and tunes will probably be a part of us for the rest of our lives. The preacher man use to preach that we should not listen to the blues or rock and roll. He would say that rock and roll sent out bad messages. To me, not all of them did. I never listened to bad music anyway. The old rock and roll was not gospel, but rock and roll has told many stories of the things that have happened in our lives.
One of the greatest blues songs in my life today is “I’ll Be Around” by the Spinners. I grew up watching my mother pray and worry about things when she had no help and no one to call on. When it seemed no one was around, God was around. He sent somebody there. Now, my mother has gone and left me, and I pray and worry just as she did. God is still around. He is teaching me that I do not have to worry. Some how I remember God through the words of the Spinners.

Isn’t He awesome that He can use anything in life to touch us? We need to be open to that, while at the same time grounded in the typical ways he works. Great reminder Gail.
