Close Enough To The Original Falsetta Sound.
He might forever be linked to Eddie Kendrick, in similarity, then any member to occupy this position, in the most successful soul group, in Motown history. But he as Kendrick, is really the sound of the Temptations, in keeping the smoothness of the support harmony on whoever the lead singer was.
If you look at the live version, of the Tempting Temptations ,performing on the Soul Train program. You begin to realized, as youthful in appearance, he was, he heavily contributed to the seventies hits, of the group. As, he and Otis do lead on Norman Whitfield’s Masterpiece, just notice the choreography. The late Cholly Atkins, must have been proud of all the members. As Paul Williams and Melvin Franklin, on video seems to be into the steps.
It’s obvious that Dennis Edwards and the group was into the moves. All versions handle their placement in the stellar reputation from the classic era. Richard and Damon, plus Edwards was the identity on Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Superstar, and so on. And while Otis Williams, seems to think they had became the Norman Whitfield singers during this period. He wasn’t complaining when the hits was rolling during this era.
Go to Otis Williams Temptations concerts, and you seen them ,performing those message songs that turn them from the hits that made them, by his production. And, as Damon Harris was dismissed from the group around mid 1975. It took The Temptations awhile to locate anyone to handle their sound , as Whitfield, Paul Riser, and Jerry Long, who was their arrangers during this period.
While in concert, we see Glen Leonard singing live versions of Firefly with Melvin and Richard. It’s Damon Harris vocals on the albums track. Kendrick would more then likely would have voted to see his replacement in the Reunion Tours during the eighties. Although I doubted it didn’t happen because of Williams problem with Harris. But in honor, of Mr. Otis( Damon) Harris Junior, I salute this article.

Sounds like Otis Williams had some serious issue with self, because Damon Harris was the next best to Eddie Kendricks.
