Jim Morrison of The Doors is Alive and Well in Morocco

Recent positive-identity postings have been sighted on several YouTube videos indicating that Jim Morrison, lead singer of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group The Doors, is alive and well in the African country of Morocco.

“Alive, She Cried!”, Jim?  Say it IS so, Mr. Mojo Risin’!

The postings include an explanation as to why, after all this time, The Lizard King has remained bearded and secluded in anonymity in a sanctuary in the East-meets-West internationally flavored country of Morocco, and he has now emerged from 40 + years of silence after his alleged death, according to an autopsy-less report, by “natural causes” at the age of 27 in Paris, France on July 3rd, 1971.

Last year, in honor of Jim’s 68th birthday on December 8th, 2011, Florida Governor Charlie Crist issued a pardon for felony charges of indecent exposure at Miami’s Dinner Key Auditorium in 1969 for Florida native James Douglas Morrison, born December 8th, 1943 to parents navy Admiral Steven Morrison and his wife Clara.

Apparently, once the pardon was issued, the once leather-clad Lothario of Love Street has felt safe to open his mouth & speak with no threat of extradition to the U.S. for what would have been certain prison time for felony crimes. Back in 1971, there were no cushy isolation jail cells as are enjoyed by the Bernie Madoff’s of today, and Mr. Morrison justly suspected he would be eaten alive if he were thrown into a Florida federal prison.

The YouTube postings have been appearing in the comments of numerous Doors videos, and they include an explanation describing the reason for Mr. Morrison’s long hiatus from the public eye, as well as a criticism of fellow Doors band members, keyboardist “Screaming” Ray “Manzo” Manzarek and guitarist Robbie Krieger, while Jim praises drummer John Densmore for not “selling out”.  Jimbo also tells us that we will be hearing more from him soon.

In another YouTube posting, Jim gives us what one poetry expert says is “positive proof” that Jim is alive with an untitled poem that is so Jim Morrison that it could only be the one-and-only Jim Morrison. But friends, fans, and experts who know Jim and his writings well will have to make their own judgements.
