Here’s the story about Billie Holiday. I have written about the time she were raped by a man named Mr. Dick. I hope your knowledge about Billie Holiday( born Eleanora Fagan) will grow while reading my article.
Billie was confused and couldn’t figure out how her mother had been able to find her. On their way home they met one of Mr. Dick’s girl friends. She told Billie’s mother to make Billie leave her man alone and to keep her away from Mr. Dick. Billie’s mother told her that is was ridiculous and that Billie just was a kid. The jealous girl friend of Mr. Dick got annoyed and probably angry too. Billie’s mother took no chances so she called the police.
Billie was scared to death and had got a trauma for her life. Crying and bleeding in her mother’s arms, the police still wanted to see Billie and Mr. Dick at the police station. They treated Billie really bad and didn’t want to let her go home. Mr. Dick was much older than Billie. He was in his forties and she was only ten. They must’ve taken one look at her and concluded that she was no kid. It must’ve been because of her very mature body. Billie took herself for a woman when she was only six years old. She had always been for her age, with big bones and big breasts. Instead of letting Billie go home with her mother they put her in a cell. Her mother begged and cried to get her out but there was no way around it. It was some difficult days for in the cell and the only person who was being nice to Billie was one of the guards. She gave Billie milk because she felt sorry for her. Billie sat there for a couple of days and finally the time had come to go to court. Mr. Dick got sentenced to five years in prison and Billie had to go to a catholic institution.
