The Top 10 Hip Hop/Rap Songs

Posted in: Hip Hop by homie g on December 20th, 2007 | 20 Comments

This article contains the top ten Hip Hop/Rap songs of all time.

  1. Because I Got High: Afroman

This song is hilarious because it tells the story of how this one person messed up his entire life. It also has a good lesson to it which is to not smoke weed or do drugs because it really does affect your life.

  2. Numb/Encore: Jay-Z/Linkin Park

This song is great because it has great lyrics and it appeals to both rap lovers and rock lovers because of the mixture of the tow types in this song.

  3. In Da Club: 50 Cent

This song has a great beat to it and the words are pretty good. Even though some people don’t like 50, this song makes it to number three on the list.

  4. Drop It Like It’s Hot: Snoop Dogg

This song is an older one that most people have heard so it makes the top ten on the list. Snoop Dogg is one of the best rappers out there so you got to give him props.

  5. Hot In Herre: Nelly

This song is also an older one that most people have heard. It is played at every party and is great to dance to so this one makes number five on the spot.

  6. California Love: 2Pac

Since he is the best rapper and also the first real rapper of all time, one of his songs has to be up here on the list. This was one of his better songs.

  7. Candy Shop: 50 Cent

This is one of his best songs because of what he is implying by his lyrics. When he says that they are going to lick the lollipop, everyone gets the real meaning behind it.

  8. Don’t Matter: Akon

This song is one of the best songs for people who want to be together but are being pushed away by other people. This song deals with problems in everyday life.

  9. Smack That: Akon

This song is very funny and has great lyrics. It talks about smacking that, and everyone knows what “that” is, so most people get the joke.

  10. Gold Digger: Kanye West

This song is one of his best of all time. Even though it is an older song, it still has a great message to it and is even better than some of the newer songs it has to compete with.

This is a good top 10 list for why Hip-hop is dead. none of these songs have any meaning at all to them except sex and drugs. honestly you wants a top 10 list here goes:

    Get By – Talib Kweli
List of Demands – Saul Williams
    I Have a Dream – Common
You Can’t Hide You Can’t Run – Dilated Peoples
Dance with the Devil – Immortal Technique
The Seed 2.0 – The Roots
    Life Goes On – Tupac
    Bombs Over Baghdad – Outkast
Find A Way – A Tribe Called Quest
    Memory Lane – NAS

All of these are rappers that sing about something. Even if you don’t agree with this list, it’s less of an affront than the one presented in this article.

are you kidding??? you have akon on there twice?!?!?!?! he would be lucky to have 1 top song on a top 100 list! that list was awful… because i got high number 1?? seriously never make another top list ever again….

  • tonisan60 August 14th, 2008 at 4:34 pm

I am to old to know nothing about hip hop or rao, for that matther, but I can say that I like the things that you value the most, and the way that you express yourself, keep penning homie g, only one advise, in the future put in your title that those are your favorites, as in “My favorites top ten”, so nobody can desagree with you, because your favorites has not to be the favorites of everybody.
My best wishes, and remember, never stop penning.
