An overview of what rap used to sound like, and what it sounds like today.
There are a lot of really good rappers out there. Its just to bad they dont get as much credit as people like “lil wayne” and “drake” i mean, sure its ok to listen to a few songs. but to give them more credit to rapping than people like biggie smalls and tupac? not a chance. to even call lil wayne rap is a disgrace. his overuse of autotune and the overuse of songs about sex, drugs and money. seems like thats all rap is now.autotune, sex, drugs and money. whatever happened to n.w.a. or bone thugs n’ harmony? people dont talk about them anymore. its all lil wayne, justin bieber and whatever else is cool to like. get a life. get your own style. lil waynes song dont mean a single thing and i doubt he even writes his own music. eminem is a great example of someone who raps about actual LIFE, and not getting their “lollipop” sucked everyday. im not a big fan of eminem myself but i respect him. and i respect the people who defined rap for what it was back then. DMX , Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, N.W.A., whatever happened to these guys? why dont i hear that stuff on the radio anymore? its definitely not as appreciated as it was back in the 90’s. i was even too young to remember that. all it takes is a few google searches to appreciate a real artists music. all im saying is that people like lil wayne need to calm down with autotune and write his own music. maybe learn to rap about things that mean something to him, and not his ignorant fanbase. and if youve got nothing to say about your life after all these years of being famous, just quit, youre not worth a career in music.
