Ghetto Metal

Most people are absolutely repulsed by the idea of rap/rock hybrids but I think the biggest reason for that is because bands like Limp Bizkit don’t really understand rap music or rock music all that well.
 
Sutter Kain is a hip hop producer who has discovered his love for Metal and he has created a style of hardcore rap that uses his vast collection of metal music as a way of creating new music. Hip Hop was built on the art of sampling and Sutter Kain takes snares, bass drums, guitars and everything else and reconstructs and mixes them into new metal songs and spits hardcore gangster rap over the music.
 
myspace.com/insanepoetry and http://www.myspace.com/suicidekingz are some of the acts on Never So Deep Music (NSDM), which is the label that Sutter Kain started. You’ll hear him say some racist shit on some of the songs but I think thats his way of answering to all the racist metal that is really popular right now while living up to the stereotype that black men are scary.
 
I am a huge fan of Sutter Kain, Insane Poetry and the rest of the Ghetto Metal scene because it takes the only part of death metal I like, the hardcore drum rhythms, and what I like most about rap music, brutality!

It should be noted that all the rappers on NSDM are black dudes who spit real, hard ass rap music. They live the street life and when they talk about murder, death, drugs, sex and gore, they’ve lived it. Unlike most death metal musicians which base their lyrics on fantasy, NSDM and the ghetto metal scene are based on harsh, brutal honesty. This music is belligerent. It gets in your face and it beats the living snot out of you. The drums, the bass, are so heavy and intense that it leaves you breathless. This is how rap music should be, hardcore!

If you get sick of the Kanye West’s out there, singing about some woman being Heartless, well, Insane Poetry, Sutter Kain and the rest are as heartless as they come and in a very real way!
