The latest celebrity family in Hollywood.
Ok, maybe they aren’t exactly in Hollywood right now, but they certainly are a family… and a happy one too! Blue Ivy Carter, the latest, smallest, and sweetest little new addition to the family makes it possible. You know how it’s easy to tell just how happy this family is right now? It’s because they aren’t making any secrets about it! Think about it for a moment – Jay-Z and Beyonce have always been very quiet and private about everything, but now they don’t mind putting little pictures up and strutting their stuff in the media. And then Mr. Carter is all up on the internet with his brand new song “Glory,” talking about his bundle of joy, his little girl Blue Ivy, dedicating the song to her on his social website LifeandTimes.com. Naaa, they can’t contain it!
It happened Saturday 7th January 2012, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York; Diva, songstress Beyonce Knowles gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter. Two days later, Blue Ivy became the youngest ever human being to appear on a Billboard chart when Jay-Z’s song “Glory” debuted at number 74 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 74, Monday 9th January 2012. The song was all about some of the many struggles hubby and wife went through during their pregnancy, not excluding the fact that the workaholic Beyonce had once suffered a miscarriage before eventually becoming pregnant with the little girl. Blue Ivy’s voice was heard in cries included at the end of the song so she could be officially credited on the song as “B.I.C.”
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, or just ‘Beyoncé’ for short, born and raised in Houston, Texas, enrolled in various performing arts schools and was first exposed to singing and dancing competitions as a child. Today, however, she is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress, rising to fame late in the 1990s with her then R&B girl group Destiny’s Child, which became one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time. By the time she gave birth to her baby, Beyoncé had earned numerous awards and accolades, including 16 Grammy Awards, 11 MTV Video Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards, a Billboard Millennium Award, as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame… with Destiny’s Child, of course. Beyoncé has sold nearly 12 million albums in the United States alone, and more than 30.4 million digital singles too. Worldwide she has a 75-million-record record, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Hubby Jay-Z hasn’t done too shabbily for himself either. Born Shawn Corey Carter in December of 1969, the 42-year old titan is a colossus of attainment. Jay-Z is a rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, and an actor too, from time to time. Financially, he’s one of the most successful hip hop artists and entrepreneurs in the county, netting far north of 450 million dollars as of 2010, selling no fewer than 50 million albums worldwide, and earning all of 13 Grammy Awards for his musical work, and near countless nominations. Constantly ranked as one of the greatest rappers of all-time, two of his albums have attained cult status as landmarks in the Rap and R&B, both ranked on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
We can only imagine how music savvy Blue Ivy will grow up to be – father a rapper and music mogul, mother possessing one of the greatest voices ever heard… anywhere, period. Now, isn’t she just the cutest little thing! Well, she is celebrity royalty…
