Listen to European Music Online with Funkhaus Europa

The radio station “Funkhaus Europa” is run by the local Northrhine-Westfalian TV and radio channel WDR. My husband found it on the radio of his cell phone while riding his bike to work. In the radio, it is only broadcasted in the Cologne area, but they do have free online streaming for you to enjoy.

They feature all genres of European music in all European languages. There are no annoying commercials. The news are in German. This cosmopolitan music project was started in 1999 and is of the most successful channels of the WDR channel family.

Unfortunately, their website is only in German. They do not have an English version. But it is pretty easy to navigate if you are only interested in finding the online stream as you can access the sub page for the online streaming HERE directly. They feature three streams for Flash, Windows Media and as MP3.

On the top of the page, you can also click on some “language tabs” that lead you to lists of shows and Pod casts running on Funkhaus Europa in that specific language (e.g. English, French, Spanish). And some languages even include sub pages of Funkhaus Europa in that language, e.g. Turkish, Bosnian, Arabic or Polish.

So, whatever you are looking for in European music, I am sure will have fun listening to this radio program!
