My review of classical violinist, Andre rieu

Concert Report

Andre Rieu is a well known violinist who travels doing shows with his orchestra. I saw his concert when he played at the San Diego Sports Arena. The music that was played was waltzes composed by Jonathon Strauss, but there were also some Christmas tunes being that this was around the holidays.

The choice of music that was played was very good because most of the songs that were played were familiar and there were still songs that were not as well known. There were songs that featured instruments not as well known such as the sitar, the Holland church bells, and in some songs there were back up vocalists. Another thing that I musically liked was just the arrangement of the pieces in general. Even though that is was Rieu’s orchestra and he played the lead part, the whole orchestra played as one unit. Aside from the music, the concert is enjoyable because it was meant, in some ways, to be funny. The clearest example of this is the irony in which it is a professional concert but things are done in a very unprofessional way. Such as, people forgetting when to play or arguments between the people in the sections breaking out in the middle of a song.

In closing, I would recommend this concert to anyone who enjoys classical music. You will be entertained by this concert even if you are not a fan of orchestras by the witty use of humor and familiarity of the songs.

His orchestra is wonderfrul! I love how he is so involved in his concert. He always involves people and kids. I find it awsome to do that!

    Sincerley,
