The world of musical instruments has long been dominated by the musical instruments we see today in most music videos. Who isn’t familiar with the likes of guitars, pianos, saxophones, drums, etc., but with the creative minds of inventive people new innovations of these classical instruments are in the making. Today you will read about some of the wackiest, weirdest instruments you will ever see.
As children most people have probably been exposed to some form of musical instrument. Who doesn’t remember taking a piano lesson or two in their day. Imagine if you had to take lessons on some of the instrumnets you are about to read about. These instruments are some of the weirdest instruments in existence today.
1) The Hapi Drum
This compact sized hand drum was created so that anyone could play it. By striking the unique shaped tongues you can achieve a perfect harmonic tone, because of this drums scientific design. On first listening to it you will probably notice the soothing quality of the notes, it kind of reminds you of a xylophone that is perfectly played. A person could probably jam on this wacky drum for hours.
2) The Amazing Pencilina
For those of you who have always dreamed of playing the guitar and the drums at the same time, The Amazing Pencilina is probably the best instrument for you. This instrument was created by a man named Bradford Reed. The Amazing Pencilina consists of two boards that run parallel to each other mounted on a stand. They are similar to guitars as one board has six strings (regular guitar), and the other board has 4 strings (bass guitar). The player uses a drumstick for the guitar board, and a metal rod for the bass board. By striking the strings, and adding drums a musician can effectively achieve a one man band kind of feel by playing this instrument.
3) The Beer Bottle Organ
This next instrument gives a whole new meaning to the song 99 Bottles Of Beer On The Wall. The Beer Bottle Organ was originally created using juice bottles, but with a sponsorship from Guiness Beer this organ came into being. The organ is played like a regular organ, but instead of air blowing through pipesit blows through different shaped beer bottles filled with mineral oil. On the wacky meter this musical intrument ranks high. Not only can you play a ditty on it, but come on how cool is any instrument made with beer bottles.
4) The Nano Guitar

This may look like and ordinary guitar, but the Nano guitar is far from ordinary. When you take into fact that the image above has been magnified using a microscope you soon realize how weird this guitar really is. No bigger than a human blood cell the Nano Guitar has truly earned it’s name. Now you may ask why would anyone need a guitar this small, but after seeing “Honey I Shrunk The Kids” don’t you feel better that you will still be able to rock out even if you get caught in a shrinking ray.
5) The Sea Organ
Everyone wants to be a musician, including Mother Nature. Her musical instrument of choice The Sea Organ of Zadar, Croatia. This organ was created as an experimental musical instrument by building marble steps with tubes underneath. Sea waves hit the steps, and create random musical tones. Mother Nature may ned to take a few piano lessons herself.
There you have it folks. You have been witness to some of the wackiest weirdest musical instruments you will ever see, but these are but a few of these kinds of instruments in the world. Keep your eyes peeled for another installment of this series. The Wacky World Of Weird Musical Instruments: Part 2
