This is a dedication to Romey Rome Beatz, my artists’ main producer. He was also a great friend to us, and he impacted many lives.
I never thought I’d be writing this somber article about Romuald Ngande (Better known to the world as Romey Rome Beatz). As you may already know, he was murdered on November 15, 2011. This article is one of the many ways myself and many others close to him, will keep his music living forever. As you also may know, he was our main producer. He has produced almost all of Yun6 Canon’s music.
I was downstairs in my house eating this past Tuesday evening. I left my cell phone upstairs in my room to charge, then I went upstairs because I heard my phone ring several times in the distance. I saw several calls from Yun6 Canon. As I went to return those calls, he called again. Then, I heard the news. I didn’t want to believe it. I went on Facebook and Twitter and saw the news. I still hoped it was a terrible dream. Then, I saw the story in the San Antonio news. I was floored. That’s not the way I envisioned he would make it onto television. I just talked to Romey Rome last week, after he told me how excited he was that he was finally making Google Adsense money for his Youtube videos. I was sad, angry, and confused. Why in the world did this happen to Romey Rome, somebody who had a big heart, and was just about his business? He was someone who was glad to give a helping hand to up and coming music artists in the rap game. There was no wonder his Facebook page was flooded with people in disbelief and horror.

Romey Rome was originally from Philadelphia, even though San Antonio has been his home for the past several years. He had always been real close with Yun6 Canon, Dew the Underground Boss, and Holliwood Pennsylvania. In fact, he also told me that Hero the Valiant was one of his biggest inspirations for becoming a music producer. You know he showed his Philly pride every Sunday when the Eagles were playing. By the end of 2008, Romey Rome Beatz had Myspace in his hands. He had over 100,000 friends, and he began producing beats for many underground rappers in the south. His biggest collaboration was his song Gucci, Louie, Prada with Frenchie from 1017 Brick Squad (So Icey at the time.)
